THE STUDIO / THE STORY BEHIND THE EDIT

I've seen enough to know
there's a better way.

A business perspective shaped by years inside the work—not just looking at it from the outside.

01 / WHY I STARTED THE NECESSARY EDIT

It started with a familiar thought.

I've spent years working inside organizations where dysfunction wasn't the exception. It was practically part of the operating model.

Processes that created more problems than they solved. Systems that made simple things unnecessarily complicated. Decisions made without considering the people responsible for carrying them out.

After a while, you start noticing patterns.

The more businesses and teams I encountered, the more often I found myself asking the same question:

“There is absolutely a better way to do that.”

That question kept coming up across industries, departments, and everyday situations. Eventually, I realized that connecting the dots—and helping people make thoughtful, practical changes—was exactly the work I wanted to do.

02 / TWO PERSPECTIVES. ONE PRACTICAL APPROACH.

The 10,000-foot view.
And deep in the weeds.

My career has spanned business operations, human resources, talent acquisition, business development, customer success, project management, and organizational strategy.

I've seen how the pieces are supposed to fit together—and what happens when they don't. I understand both the decisions made at the top and the everyday work required to make those decisions real.

03 / THE POINT OF VIEW
I don't know everything about running a business.
But I know a hell of a lot about how not to run one.

And that's a surprisingly useful place to start.

04 / THE NECESSARY EDIT

Not everything needs to change.
Just the things that should.

I didn't start The Necessary Edit because I think every business needs to reinvent itself. I started it because I've seen how much better things can work when someone asks the right questions, challenges unnecessary complexity, and follows through on practical improvements.

I don't believe in complicated solutions for their own sake—or polished recommendations that never make it off the page.

Sometimes the difference between constant firefighting and real progress isn't a complete transformation.

It's the necessary edit.
